Driver Misses Turn And Gets Vaulted 125 Feet And Lands On House


A driver in Larchwood, Iowa is very lucky to be alive after crashing his car into a house at a speed so fast, the car flew 125 feet in the air and landed on the roof! Lyon County SheriffStewart Vander Stoepsaid, "I couldn't believe it! I never thought I would see a car sticking out of a roof!"

Authorities say the driver was northbound on Highway 9 when he missed a curve. The vehicle hit a ditch, then vaulted over a street, and continued airborne for 125 feet before smashing into the roof of a house.

Two miracles here: nobody was home at the time and the driver managed to survive. Police say the posted speed limit is 35 mph but the car had to be going at least 115 mph to do what it did. The driver has been identified as 25-year-oldIrrael Hildagofrom Sioux Falls. The extent of his injuries has not been released. Authorities say charges are pending.
