A former Royal Caribbean employee currently serving 30 years in federal prison on child porn charges may have filmed hundreds of unsuspecting passengers on hidden cameras, an attorney representing the victims told 7News.

Arvin Joseph Mirasol, a Philippine national, was arrested in February and sentenced in August for producing child sexual abuse material by filming girls as young as 2 on the Symphony of the Seas ships. A young girl reportedly discovered a camera hidden underneath a sink on the ship, which led to his arrest.

Spencer Aronfeld, who represents the families of 12 children in a lawsuit against Royal Caribbean Group, said he suspects "hundreds" of passengers may have been unknowingly filmed by Mirasol.

“He installed, underneath the cabin bathroom sink, a camera where he was recording people using the bathroom — men and women and children, in and out of the showers,” Aronfeld said.

“We think there are hundreds of other victims out there,” he added.

Investigators found a trove of elicit videos of children showering and getting undressed on the confiscated electronic devices and Mirasol also admitted to hiding under the beds inside the cabins to spy on and record children, according to investigators. The families have filed a lawsuit against Royal Caribbean Group claiming the company didn't protect them and screen out predators when hiring Mirasol, 7News reported.

“I was shocked. I was, I mean, in complete disbelief,” said one plaintiffs, whose daughter was just 2 years old at the time of the incident. “We entrusted our privacy, our safety with their cruise line, and to hear that our privacy was completely just thrown off the window with this situation was really shocking to me.”
