Arizona National Guard help prepare & pack food at local Phoenix food banks

As local valley food bank are experiencing a major drop in volunteers, assistance from the Arizona National Guard has helped food banks pack food and stock shelves.

A week ago, Gov. Doug Ducey called on the Arizona National Guard to start helping grocery stores and food banks.

The national guard has helped pack the food bank's monthly inventory emergency food boxes and distributed food to clients.

The National Guard has been assisting at various food banks across the valley and will soon begin helping valley grocery stores soon. It is estimated that 700 service members would be active at food banks and grocery stores by Thursday.
