Wendy Dio Gave One of Ronnie James Dio's Rings to Rob Halford

Wendy Dio recently met up with Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford in Los Angeles to present Halford with a ring that belonged to her late husband, iconic singer Ronnie James Dio

A post on Judas Priest's Facebook page thanked Wendy, saying it "means such a lot" that she wanted Halford to have the ring.

Dio and Halford are two of the most influential singers in the history of hard rock and heavy metal. Between Halford's legacy in Judas Priest and Dio's work with Rainbow, Black Sabbath and his eponymous band, the pair's work is essential to the history of the heavy metal movement.

The two singers were close friends and it's no mystery why as they are also renowned as being two of the genre's sweetest human beings.

"This was a ring I first bought Ronnie when he first joined Black Sabbath. It has a cross on it," said Wendy via Dio's official Twitter account. "Rob was such a good friend of Ronnie's I thought he should have it. We had a great time at the show."

Judas Priest is towards the end of the U.S. leg of its Firepower tour. The band recently announced that it will return to the states this summer for a co-headlining jaunt with fellow heavy rock pioneers Deep Purple

Wendy Dio is still developing the Dio Returns hologram tour, featuring a hologram of her late husband backed by a live band that includes former members of Dio's solo band.
