Al-Shabaab Fighters Killed In U.S. Airstrike

More than 100 al-Shabaab fighters are dead after U.S. airstrike in Somalia.  The Pentagon says the attack hit a terrorist force about 125 miles from the Somali capital of Mogadishu Tuesday.  A statement from the U.S. Africa Command says the airstrike was designed to disrupt attacks on U.S. forces and its allies.  About 500 U.S. troops are serving in Somalia.

American forces have launched 7 airstrikes in Somalia in the past 2 weeks.  Al-Shabaab is allied with the al-Qaeda terrorist network.
