Our thoughts and prayers are with Arizona Diamondbacks CEO Derrick Hall and his wife Amy.
Today Hall announced, in heart felt letter to his team, that his wife has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

I struggled with sharing this one and was not willing to do so unless my wife Amy was comfortable with me doing so. We feel it is important because I share everything with you, my Team Players and family, and there have been more and more rumors and questions of late about a family health issue.
We learned a little more than a week ago that Amy has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of triple negative breast cancer. This requires 4-6 months of chemotherapy, followed by surgery and radiation. The process is daunting, but the positive is just how responsive this cancer is to chemotherapy.
I am now taking my family out of town for the week, and then the treatment schedule will begin early the following week. For those of you who have been through this or had loved ones who have been through this, you can imagine the stress Amy has been through over the last few days with appointments, consultations, blood work, biopsies and scans. But for nearly 30 years, I have never known a stronger or more positive-minded individual.
These challenges that our family continues to face have only, and will only, make us stronger. Just as the challenges that we as an organization have been dealt, will again factor into our strength and development. Our culture continues to shine within these walls as we all grow even closer during difficult times. And similarly, Amy's fight, love for her family, and passion for our D-backs will help her triumph during this test.
I thank each and every one of you for your commitment to this wonderful franchise, and appreciate the well-wishes and thoughts that have already been expressed. We look forward to feeling all of your prayers and positive energy in the coming months.
Keep up the great work and keep my beautiful Amy in mind. She will beat this and chalk up another much-needed victory in this season's win column. She may lose hair, but she will win life. And we will be two, young, lovingly married, cancer survivors.
We love you all dearly. Go D-backs, and go Amy, Mama Strong!
